Bad Brains may never have broken big but they are one of the most important bands of all time.
Making its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival next month, the documentary Bad Brains: Bands in DC, about the underrated and influential American band that has played an ecclectic blend of punk and reggae for 30 years, is directed by Mandy Stein and Benjamen Logan.
Bad Brains were the all black punk band from Washington DC melded reggae and hardcore and invented hardcore on the way. Ian Mackaye and Henry Rollins formed bands after seeing them and then a whole host of musicians were fired by their incredible energy, spiritual soul power and wild energy.
Finally someone has made a documentary about the band.
