ATP (USA) announce ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ Festival

ATP America have announced a new festival to be held on July 23/24 and to be curated by Portishead. The festival will be sited within Asbury Park, New Jersey. Tickets are on sale now – for full details and to buy tickets follow the LINK
There’s some great stuff going on including Godspeed You! Black Emperor and a collaboration between graphic novelist Alan Moore and Stephen O’Malley from Sunn 0))) who will be providing text and guitar respectively for a soundtracking of Harry Smith’s 1962 Heaven & Earth Magic. In addition there will be performances from Swans, Deerhoof, Grinderman and Shellac…

Also there will be a film screening of ‘Submarine’ which Artic Monley’s Alex Turner wrote the soundtrack for.

Phil Newall is from The Wirral - he earns his living not writing about music nor playing music...though sorely wishes he could. He was fortunate enough to see many of the first generation punk bands when they played the U18's matinee shows at Eric's, Liverpool. As an attendee at Eric's he was exposed to punk rock, dub reggae, art rock, and all manner of weirdness; as a customer at Probe Records he was variously served and scowled at by Pete Wylie and Pete Burns - he has written for Record Collector, Whisperin & Hollerin, and Spiral Scratch and wanted to write a book detailing the Liverpool punk scene; however with 'Head-On' Julian Cope beat him to it...and frankly did a much better job.
