Askjell will release a debut album in MarchSongwriter and record producer Askjell Solstrand has announced the release date for his debut record everything will be ok. The album will come out on the 18th of March 2022.

Askjell Solstrand, who uses his exotic first name as a moniker for the solo music project, is based in Bergen. Earlier he collaborated with Sigrid and Aurora, known for being at the steering wheel of the Norwegian pop music export.

The new album features lulling impressionistic compositions and some foggy experimental downtempo, similarly nodding to James Blake. Some of the material was created in collaboration with the above-mentioned Aurora as well as Iris and Emilie Nicolas. The video on Lost My Cool, one of the tracks from the upcoming LP, is available on the artist’s YouTube.

The artist describes his pedantic approach to recording as a necessary sequence of ups and downs: “If you don’t cry during the session it’s not good enough. If I don’t at some point get goosebumps, I’m not doing it right. Be creative, interact, involve everyone! Music is a language. Music is pain, and music is beauty.”
