Morrissey © Melanie SmithMorrissey has posted another interview on his website that sees him dig deeper into his political views and further away from the majority of his beleaguered fans. In the interview he says  Nigel Farage would “make a good prime minister” and claims “everyone prefers their own race”.

In an interview conducted by his nephew Sam Esty Rayner in April, and recently posted on his own website, Morrissey praised the For Britain party leader Anne Marie Waters and reiterated his own controversial views.

He said: “I think Anne Marie Waters is the only British party leader who can unite the left and right.

“I don’t know any other party leader who even wants to do this.

“The UK is a dangerously hateful place now, and I think we need someone to put a stop to the lunacy and to speak for everyone. I see Anne Marie Waters as this person.

“She is extremely intelligent, ferociously dedicated to this country, she is very engaging, and also very funny at times.”

He added that he had never heard her say anything racist, continuing: “But if you call someone racist in modern Britain you are telling them that you have run out of words.

“You are shutting the debate down and running off. The word is meaningless now.

“Everyone ultimately prefers their own race – does this make everyone racist?

  1. I’ve been done with Steven Patrick for a while now, I didn’t get the last album, for example. But it’s still difficult. Twenty five years since Vauxhall and I and all it’s mighty greatness and now I don’t recognise the guy.

  2. I’m sick and tired of the bashing he’s getting. We’re setting a dangerous president here: he’s speaking his mind ‘freely’: an entitlement that has taken centuries to gain a foothold. Once that freedom is gone. We slide into darkness again.

    • The only “dangerous president” round here is that orange prick in the White House. Also, what are you talking about? Mozzer has free speech, that’s not under threat, but the fact is the free speech his delivering is right wing bullshit.

  3. Can’t knock him for being true to himself. If he’s such an idiot and he’s racist why keep making a story out of him and what he says? If he’s racist, they’re enabling him.

  4. Selective quoting at play. Not one article has mentioned:

‘My political stance is simple: I oppose barbarism from the Left, the Right, or the Centre’. A pretty reasonable statement, no?

Also no reference to his comment that opposition to Halal slaughter doesn’t make him racist; it is merely consistent with nearly forty years of very public opposition to animal slaughter in any form.

Some really shoddy, stitched up pieces being put out there regarding the interview, and this is one of them.

    • But that doesn’t fit the narrative does it. It’s quite hilarious just how disconnected the these corporate media types are from the general public opinion. It must be becuase they get all source information straight from Twitter as if that represents public opinion on anything…..

  5. Always interested in Morrissey’s opinion. Even if I disagree with him, its always worth thinking about what he is saying and why.

  6. I think a better title would of been “Another heavily left bias smear article against Morrissey becuase allowing difficult political discussion makes us screech nazi and bigot becuase we lack the ability to produce a convincing counter argument”

    Just a thought…….

  7. He’s entitled to his opinion, and, whether you agree or not, it makes a refreshing change from the liberal artistic echo chamber, insufferably unified and self-regarding since the Brexit vote. The kind of thing the much-missed Mark E Smith loved to ridicule. I think Morrissey’s wrong about For Britain and Anne Marie Waters, but if he’d worn a Brexit Party badge, he’d have been equally reviled. Farage and the BP and their voters are no fascists, but let’s not let logic, proper definitions and historical accuracy get in the way of self-righteous apoplexy
Marc Riley tweeted a couple years back that all Brexit voters were racist and should be herded onto the Isle Of Man. I took him up on it, but not a peep from anyone else. Ditto with some equally rabid facebook comments circa 2016/17 from that dolt from the Fat White Family. They sound more like fascists than Morrissey. Ironic, no?
