Anonymous Response to John Robb’s Open Letter to Russell Brand

John Robb open letter to Russell Brand is here

Greetings John Robb, Russell Brand and the world,

We are Anonymous.

Someone has been bringing a lot of attention to themselves Mr. Brand, and it has attracted us as well as others who are distrustful of celebrities using their status as a launchpad for what seems at first glance, a noble endeavor. We would count Mr. Robb as part of this later demographic. Why are we so apprehensive?

Mainstream entertainment has been under suspicion for obvious reasons for years. Most of us understand that we are being spoon-fed bullshit by the media. Why then, would we trust the ex-husband of Katy Perry? Because you are the ex, Russell?

We don’t know what your intentions are, but coming across this open letter to you does invite you to defend yourself to someone else than a stuffed suit of the establishment. The article on Louder than War brings up some interesting points. So if you cannot fill in the gaps, please allow us to light the way regarding life as only we know it.

Revolution is always awkward,, but should only be because it is fringing on what we believe to be death and chaos. Not because the person touting it is arguably nearly too aloof to comprehend the intricacies that would be involved. When you use the name and imagery of Che Guevara, you are immediately implanting the image of a bullet ridden struggle, to the ones who know their history, which is what he was apart of. We are not saying he was wrong, but the true revolution can be achieved without bullets or bloodshed. I would implore you to encourage people to learn the truth about men like Qaddafi and all that he had done for Libya instead. How the media made him seem like a crack pot because he refused to play the world economic ball game. Let us all make sure that our research is done and that the truth is discovered. It was Castro that stayed in Cuba and led the people to stabilization. But, then again, you won’t see as many Castro shirts in posh shops up and down London. Scaring people with the idea of civil war will not lead to the revolution we are seeking. It will only cause them to wall themselves inside their homes and hope to vote their way out of it and that is the antithesis of true progress.

A very good point that you do proliferate is, “don’t vote”. You seem a little shaky though when questioned about this. Let Anonymous answer it for you, clearly and concisely. No one should vote because it does not matter. Voting gives the people an illusion of choice. Most of us know that voting results can and are being rigged regularly. The decisions are made regarding what passes and what fails when the bills are written, and when the candidates are first chosen. Voting is like a Roman event in the Colosseum to make the peasants believe that their society is just and fair as the lions rip apart the slave that got out of line. SOLUTION!!!! Don’t be apart of it. If there began a trend of .5% voter turn out, they would have to hire actors to make the story believable. Don’t participate and force them into a corner. Communicate with your community (see how those words are similar) and let people know that you didn’t vote, see if they feel the same. The secret ballot was created for a reason. The stigma behind discussing who you voted for is preposterous. As a community, people should have gathered together to discuss and plan and plot, but we were fed bull shit once again and let them label such discussion as taboo. We have a method to communicate with the world, let alone our immediate sector so let everyone know, “I DID NOT FUCKING VOTE”. See what the media does with the numbers. See how it will probably be common place bull shit showing the informed proof of the lie. That is the solution to that. When people realize that the media circus is pre-planned and pre-scripted regarding the fundamental facade of “Democracy” and start to share and tweet and facebook or whatever the devil the kids are doing these days, there will be an overwhelming consensus that it is faked and fucked.

There is no such thing as “Democracy”, there is only capitalism. Capitalism thrives of off fear campaigns of scarcity. Scarcity caused by war, disease, over-population, global warming, etc. When a hibernating animal realizes that winter is coming, their first priority is to stock up on sustenance. Humans are not hibernating animals, so we have to have this forced vision of scarcity to feed our greed which is actually the self-preservation mechanism. Greed leads to crimes of every shape and size but is the improper term. We have been programmed to believe that hording and greed IS self-preservation.

But wait, we should buy your book? Why, are there only a limited number of copies available, hence creating scarcity? Why not upload it to the piratebay and let everyone gander at it for free yourself? It will show up there eventually. Art has no price tag. Thoughts are art. Words are art. Give the profits to charity and redeem yourself perhaps. Sell that big house, rent a flat and give the money you save to the hungry. When the revolution does happen, your money will be useless anyway.

Welcome to the DIY community. Punk helped to nurture this philosophy, something Mr. Rob knows a lot about. Community! That is what will change the world. From small to medium to large to a global scale, we are a community. In all fairness, from what Anonymous has seen, you Russell, do emphasize this to a degree. But it seems, that you always miss the part of the speech that would do the most good. It is a VASTLY unpopular idea. The community of human beings must let go of religious, racial, social, class, and sexual bigotry, to the point where yes, you will have to slap the Indian in the face to make him except his Pakistani brother and vice versa. You will have to slap the Jewish person to make him except his Muslim brother and vice versa. You willl have to slap Christians in the face to…, hell make them except anyone else and vice versa. And so on and so on. People must understand that this hatred is unfounded in nature and only a product of this modern society that they have been poisoned by. It’s a hard rain’s a gonna fall.

There are no hipster badges here. That is why we are Anonymous. If you are going to wear the mask, keep it on. No fame, no glory, just information that will hopefully go somewhere. While we don’t have your looks, or charm, or celebrity (well maybe that one), we can reach more people, and do more good all the while remaining, Anonymous. No books to sell. No DVD’s. Everything we produce is free and always will be. We even pay off student loans for people we do not know when we can by fucking the system. Anonymous seeks no ultimate power, only to restore it to humanity. Again, that is why we are Anonymous. We have no leader, no true ideology even, other than ideas that just plainly make sense. You will not see Anonymous becoming mayor or governor or president. There is no need.

And now we offer Mr. Robb a chance that Mr. Brand has yet to offer. A chance to question Anonymous regarding what, how and why this revolution will happen. At least the hive that makes up this post.

Mr. Robb, if you would be so kind?

  1. Two things; apart is not the same as a part, and only those who want this ‘revolution’ will not vote leaving those currently in control of the state….er…in control of the state. Stop voting for the same parties but don’t stop voting. Fink abaat it.

    • What part of the “illusion of choice” is not understandable. You can vote all you want, but if who or what you are voting for has not been determined by the system to be the winner, you honestly think eventually, in your life time, you will see true change or progress. How about during your children’s life span, grandchildren?

  2. Those wanting credibility should come forth and provide their name. Stop hiding behind a moniker.

    • Those who want credibility don’t hide behind celebrity, don’t try to become one, don’t try to profit. What we have always offered to the public is free, and so that we remain free (not locked up somewhere), we will continue to wear the mask.

  3. I’m sorry but that response is absolute drivel. when you say you have no ideology , other than ideas that make sense, what do you mean who do they make sense to ?

  4. Feeling like ppl are not reading the whole thing – a video may be more…..entertaining………
    United as one.
    Divided by zero.
    We are Legion.
    We do not forgive.
    We do not forget.
    Expect Us.

  5. No Ego…. We care for those who are asleep and inside. We will continue to fight for you until and after you awaken and join the celebration. Politicians are celebrity. Should we trust those who bask in the kudos and likes and shares of their platform. Or, should we start to listen to a collective of varying opinions that come to a simple, humanitarian, and logical conclusion. United – unlike the vote, unlike government, unlike the class systems…., they will not Divide Us. No Vote – No Leaders….

‘Anonymous’ is quite clearly Mr Brand. Talk about contradicting yourself!

    • Oh Ho! You caught me mate! Russel Brand here spouting the trews like a wonderful vagina gripping you like a warm wet friend. *Insert Jingle Here* So what should we make of this “anonymous” right? Seems like I wore the mask and now I am a target. So what if they are helping individuals on a daily basis. I am selling a wonderful new book about revolution! And so, if you have the cash, BuY It at your local book shop…. What? Whats That? Book shops have been outlawed…. Ummmm…..Ok, lets not panic. Russell Brand here on Kings Road, selling books on the street corner…..Oh what, whats that officer, books are banned? But…….I have a contract and…………What the bollocks are the cuffs for?……

Russell Brand here from his new flat in the local jailhouse… Seems instead of pandering books and Youtube videos, I should have been working on true change…. Russell Brand, signing off.

      U mad Bro?

  7. No squabbling in the ranks!!! ;)

  8. I feel compelled to say that whoever wrote this really hasn’t done their research and is, in the main, misinformed . Whilst it flows with a pleasant narrative, not a single worthwhile or valid point is made with regards to Russel Brands position on politics or revolution and merely skirts around assumption and misconception.

I urge anyone with a real interest in the issue to further educate themselves first. Watch Russel Brands videos on his youtube channel … listen to his appearances on podcasts, read his writing.

Russel Brand is a voice for the unrepresented people of this world. If you truly what want is right for the people then do not berrate him, do not fight him, do not seek to belittle him. Support him. Support each other. LL

    • We urge everyone to consider a wealthy person selling a book on “revolution”…. Selling…? All out information is free and if he wants to wear the mask then consider the collective. No leaders, no names, no ideology… Just the open discussion of Anonymous humans looking for the real “Trews”….

Education is important. Let us differentiate from entertainment or a popular buzz word, edutainment. Read REAL news, listen to your neighbor, to your brothers and sisters. Tune in to humanity and not celebrity…. We do not publish names… We do not seek approval. We are on a mission, without any ulterior motive, other than peace and a new way of life.

  9. What a bunch of hypocrites this “Anonymous” are. Voting is the reason they are allowed to have a difference of opinion. Voting is why we have the NHS, welfare state, the vote itself.

Riddle me this “Anonymous”. You say we shouldn’t vote. Well all it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. UKIP etc will win if nobody makes a stand at the ballot box. Let’s see how quickly you’re herded up and put in prison if that happens when they take away your right to protest. You only have the luxury of being able to wear your silly masks and follow your millionaire buddy Russell in your fun little soirees because we have the vote. If this country turned into the intolerant cesspit that it would if evil won by people not voting, old Brandy would be off to America quicker than you can say “taxi for hippy boy!!”

I have the feeling that “Anonymous” are a bunch of 14 year old spotty virgins who use their masks to hide their acne and who will most likely “move on” from their activities once they lose their virginity and grow up a bit. If that ever happens.

    • Let us correct some erroneous statements that you have made. Voting is NOT the reason we have free speech. In fact voting is what systematically takes it away. Constitutions promise free speech and difference of opinions which are being slowly and surely ripped to shreds. We are not implying that we do nothing, as we have done much more than nothing. Visit your Buckingham Palace on November the 5th, visit your White Houses on November the 5rh See what others ARE doing instead of voting for limited choices and believing the illusion of choice.

Follow your millionaire buddy? Did you read our article? I believe that some one is confused… Are you talking about Bono…oh, we meant Brand….

How would your media render an election with no voters? Would they try again, or simply call winners as if it happened.

By the way, our acne is all clear and we will continue to wear the masks to ensure our safety – and – to prevent celebrity from clouding the mind of the collective.

      • You people make me laugh. Its all about how awful you think we are and how wonderful you think you are and then after disrespecting us with your comically-muddled sexually frustrated cod-sixth form politics you expect us to agree with you!

“Oh look at us! We’re all so pure and you are all so purile!! But join us, won’t you. If people don’t notice us in our silly little masks we’ll scweam and scweam until we’re sick!!” It’s like Rik from The Young Ones without the humour. Or tact. Or… anything, really.

That, along with the catastrophic bad taste of wearing a mask glorifying a fundamentalist religious terrorist in Guy Fawkes (another cack handed attention-seeking “controversial” move), shows you’re not as savvy as you think you are.

You cane the established order for being unaccountable and faceless by wearing masks which shield your identity making you… unaccountable and faceless. I really have to spell this out to you don’t I.

We are Anonymous! And we’re… well, just like the rest, really.

        • “You people make me laugh. Its all about how awful you think we are and how wonderful you think you are and then after disrespecting us with your comically-muddled sexually frustrated cod-sixth form politics you expect us to agree with you!

Our response is, what are you doing? We do not glorify ourselves such as celebrities. We are made up of individuals such as yourselves. Why would we wear the mask? Why would we post as “Anonymous”? We seek no glory, no fame. You cannot make millions famous – as that defeats the meaning of fame. We are Anonymous. You are Anonymous. No one knows who “BigJoe” is… No one cares, but ideas matter, and your ideas matter, and our ideas matter. But the ones that use “ideals” as a method of control are the ones to be watched. Say what you will about us. You are already Anonymous because we doubt your legal name is “BigJoe”…..

          • CORRECTION – BigJoe is OK – Replace that name with Joey Manic – Our apologies BigJoe – Hope you understand!

      • A central plank of Anonymous’ teenage angst is that we’re all somehow “oppressed”. I bet a refugee from North Korea or a Holocaust survivor would laugh in your face at that one. But then you’re so “radical” that you probably think the “establishment” (the same one that you presumably think stops you from getting laid) faked the Holocaust, right? Hatred of the “establishment” usually comes down to hatred of some minority group that you blame for everything. 1930’s Germany, anyone? Conspiracy theorists aren’t “hip” or “groovy.” They’re merely people desperate to blame someone else for their own failings.

Oh you’re so pure. So novel and anti-establishment, writing on your Sony laptop in your Nike trainers using electricity from a big multinational power company in your mask likely mass-produced in some Far East sweatshop. Unless of course you’re sending these messages to Louder Than War by smoke signals.

And your look and presumably most of your ethics seem to come from the movie V For Vendetta. Distributed by Warner Bros. Lucky for you they’re not a global behemoth making billions a year, that’d look really bad for your “anti-establishment” credentials…

What this boils down to is the fact that you put yourself in a no-win situation when you say you’re not hypocrites, when we all are to some degree. The trick is managing the hypocrisy, volunteering in the local community or giving money to charity doing things like this go some way to redressing your personal balance.

But I don’t expect you to listen. We all know under that mask you want a revolution but only of you can get your skinny latte tomorrow and Daddy’s money remains untouched so you can still go about your “edgy” activities until such time as your folks tell you to get a proper job in the City and you inherit your parents’ Devon estate and can go shooting with Orlando and Hetty. What-ho!

  10. Joey Manic has a valid poinot in that UK politics are at a scary juncture at the moment. The two main party’s are practically the same and the disenfranchised people of this country are ready to protest vote the wrong way. I.e. to the furthest right.

I do not think it is helpful to call ‘anonymous’ 14 year old spotty virgins”. The author / authors of the open letter do not sound like they are. They are Concerned citizens and deserve to be heard but I do wonder which part of the ‘anonymous’ philosophy the posters actually perscribe to. Brand is flawed to be sure but he his out there bringing new ideas to people that ‘anonymous’ might not reach.

I hope that this is not an attempt to get headlines. Brand is not The Church of Scientology and personally I will be disappointed is he becomes a publicity battle opportunity purely to raise the ‘anonymous’ profile.

    • This is merely an attempt to get Brand to be a little more truthful and to expand his education.

We in no way want to promote his book. In fact it will be freely available to anyone that wants it once the first one is sold or published as an ebook – that is just the way of the world, so people can make up their minds without laying down the cash for it.

We have no problem with Brand saying what he is saying, but when we come across videos of interviews with Russell they are usually with some other celebrity or a BBC mouthpiece. Why won’t he respond to John Robb, someone that is doing something good without great profit and a whole lot of sacrifice of his own time? We love open discussion. That’s why we are here.

Scientologists were just the beginning. We restore internet to parts of the world that are shut off do to war and government operations. We will buy up debt on the open market and swallow it, releasing the student from those shackles. We have no philosophy. Only that free speech is paramount.

We do not want Russel to shut up. but maybe come a little closer to the collective to have answers to the inevitable questions he will be asked when speaking of revolution, instead of “I don’t know but it’s going to happen”.

Use your celebrity if you must – BTW, we would venture to say more people know about Anonymous these days than Russel Brand – but please do not make a mockery by not having your ducks in a row. Comedy is wonderful and does belong in these discussions, but in the end, research and knowledge need to be the punchline. It is a shame more people do not know the name of someone like Noam Chomsky – but he is not “sexy” and “exciting” to the general populace.

We would like to say “Thank You” to BigJoe for not following the herd and lashing out against us because we are not Brand cheerleaders, we want the same thing, but we know a little better of how to accomplish it as we hack away at the stone of oppression.

  11. Come back when you’ve figured out that ‘accept’ and ‘except’ are different words.

  12. U mad bro?

    • I’m as mad as hell and you’re not my brother.

      • Thats exactly the problem, you are mad, and consider yourself something other than a brother or sister of the human race. We are not not even angry, we are being so sincere right now. Maybe we will get lucky and Brand will get a refund on his Richard Branson space ticket and do something worth while with the money here on earth, in light of Virgin Galactic 2 blowing up yesterday. Or maybe not….

  13. If our current political system worked we would now live in a democracy of equals. Western politics is not democracy it is capitalism pure and simple.
We the electorate have forgotten that there was a time when we stood together for our greater good, we bought the lie that “free market capitalism” would deliver a better society for all, what we have ended up with is predatory capitalism.
There are democratic changes taking place but not through politics, kickstarter is a good example of empowerment, to hit back at an unjust system take away its life blood money, until a better political system is developed the only immediate way to make a change IMO is to change our spending habits. If we chose to support non corporate retailers and makers we can make our voices heard.

    • Well said Ian. All capitalism is predatory capitalism. We need a resource based economy. Not a monetary one. Boycotting big business is one step in the right direction. However, many cannot afford to avoid it. Many cannot afford to buy REAL food and are stuck with Monsanto Franken-Foods. This is why the whole system needs a hard restart, and a complete re-installation of the operating system… November 5th – Lights Out.

  14. Stay tuned, we are not done yet….

    United as one
    Divided by zero
    We are legion
    We do not forgive
    We do not forget

    Expect us….

What-ho!”

What do you know of North Korea? Have you ever been there? You can go you know? Mass media leads to such brainwashing and programming. Look how quickly you run toward preadolescence insults regarding getting “laid” and “acne”. Did you know your employer may be Anonymous? Did you know you are?

Nike trainers and sony laptops……. Really? We are Anonymous. Some wear Armani, some shop at the local thrift store. We all have our facades and ways of making our way through life. Is that what you have? Is that what you want? Speaking out of ones rear end is a fabulous trick, but should never be regarded as relevant.

    V is merely a symbol — non-religious — non-racial — non-ideological. Some of us represent ourselves as ponies. What?

None of us need to make up for our deeds. We do what we must because we can. Do more research friend.

“Daddy’s money”…. Hmm, sounds alot like your leaders. But will you say the same to them? Or will you support them as you have.

Please read and absorb, then come on back for more debate.

    Expect Us.

  16. “Can you count, suckers? I say, the future is ours… if you can count! (a couple of soldiers cheer for Cyrus) Now, look what we have here before us. You got the Saracens sitting next to the Jones Street Boys. We’ve got the Moonrunners right by the Van Cortlandt Rangers. Nobody is wasting nobody. That… is a miracle. And miracles is the way things ought to be. (a few more soldiers cheer for him) You’re standing right now with nine delegates from 100 gangs. And there’s over a hundred more. That’s 20,000 hardcore members. Forty-thousand, counting affiliates, and twenty-thousand more, not organized, but ready to fight: 60,000 soldiers! Now, there ain’t but 20,000 police in the whole town. Can you dig it? (gang members shout “Yeah!”) Can you dig it? Can you dig it?! Now, here’s the sum total: One gang could run this city! One gang. Nothing would move without us allowing it to happen. We could tax the crime syndicates, the police, because WE got the streets, suckers! Can you dig it? The problem in the past has been the man turning us against one another. We have been unable to see the truth, because we have fighting for ten square feet of ground, our turf, our little piece of turf. That’s crap, brothers! The turf is ours by right, because it’s our turn. All we have to do is keep up the general truce. We take over one borough at a time. Secure our territory… secure our turf… because it’s all our turf!”
