Annuale caught in Avalanche

Avalanche record store in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket is participating in this year’s Annuale Festival by hosting an exhibition created by visual artists, Chris Biddlecombe and Janie Nicol, between 9th and 24th June.

The installation is the result of a collaborative project involving the creation of twenty-four record cover artworks created by a wide range of Scottish artists each of whom has a strong interest in or connection to music making.

Each artist has created their own fictional artiste’s albumn in the form of a 12” double sided artwork displayed in a plastic sleeve. All will be released on the collaborative project label called Obstacle Soup.

The Annuale is an annual festival of independent and grassroots activity in Edinburgh that runs from 8th until 24th June. Events, activities and exhibitions are hosted at a variety of venues across the city. More information is available on the festival website.

Avalanche regularly hosts events supporting the Scottish music scene. Frightened Rabbit performed at Avalanche for this year’s Record Store Day and The Twilight Sad have also performed in store.

It is well worth checking the store’s website regularly to make sure you don’t miss out on anything. Details of events at Avalanche are on its website.
