anarchistwoodAnarchistwood – Bomb in a Luggage Rack – explosive video premiere!

Track available as a Download or Seven Inch Vinyl single  from here  or on the album -the Nasty Album -available here.

Anarchistwood seem to be the most bat-shit-crazy band left … and thank Dog they exist!

Anarcho-funsters, sleazy-garage-punks, libertarian-art-hippies, Situationists with guitars and an endless supply of grease-paint  … I haven’t seen them live in a dive yet, but their recordings and videos and social media postings tell me everything I need to know.

Singer Frank Cutter I knew of  online via the late, great, much-missed Johnny Deluxe, and if anyone keeps his spirit of flamboyance, taboo-breaking, wit, adventure and style alive, it is her and Anarchistwood.

One of the best description of Anarchistwood comes from a review in Razorcake – where it is impossible to tell whether its trying to insult or praise them and whether the reviewer loves or hates them- but it captures their essence perfectly.  “What the Fuck Is This?  Weirdo Hippy Anarchist Art-Punk from the UK, like a psychotic mix of Crass, Gang of Four and Frank Zappa!”  It’s here in full.  To me they are more like the Cravats / Rubella Ballet / Poison Girls style of Anarcho… only with added 21st century lysergic bounce and art-terror-madness.

Anyway –  here is the fabulous video romp for the song ‘Bomb In A Luggage Rack’.   Due to the title alone -let alone the content – it may not stay up on YouTube for very long so enjoy it now while you can.   What exactly is going on -Fuck knows!   Directed by the band and  Lindsey Studholme.

Single available from Grow Your Own Records Bandcamp

Look out for any gigs, happenings and releases from Anarchistwood on their socials and website and  encourage their wayward and riotously dayglo sex-punk activities by buying their shit.

Dedicated with love to one of the Greatest Men I Have Ever Met.  The unique & wonderful Johnny Deluxe who left this earthly plane in 2017 to travel the Loonyverse.  Never to be Forgotten. x

  1. Probably my favourite band, yeah, they are friends also. We were thrown together on a bill for a gig on Brick Lane ages ago. I was blown away with their lack of care for what anybody thought of them, they were “anarchistwood” and they did what they wanted. We soon became friends and have collaborated a couple of times. I love “anarchistwood” Nigel of tunnelmental.
