Signing at HMV Market Street, Manchester

Monday 4th November 2013 from 6pm

Plus 200 Clear Vinyl LP’s Of New Order’s Debut Album ‘Movement’ are to given away at this special event…

Celebrating their return to their Oxford Street, London store along with the re-launch of the company in the UK, and to thank their loyal customers and fans for their support, hmv have teamed up with New Order to produce a strictly limited edition clear vinyl run of the band’s debut LP ‘Movement’

200 copies will be given away for free at a very special one off “an audience with” event with Joy Division and New Order founder, Peter Hook on Monday 4th November at 6pm in the hmv 90 Market Street, Manchester store.

Copies will be distributed at the event on a first come first served basis prior to the Q+A session, after which Hooky will meet fans and sign copies of the album…This strictly limited pressing is an instant collectors item, and demand for it is expected to be very high; as such we are advising those determined to gain a copy to arrive early.

‘Movement’, the first LP by New Order and the final time the band were produced by Martin Hannett, transcends the post punk style of Joy Division with the synth pop which characterised New Order and as at the time of Movement, as the band were still deciding on a lead vocalist Hooky himself originally performed two tracks, “Dreams Never End”, and “Doubts Even Here”.

Insurgent and anthemic in equal parts, ‘Movement’ as its title suggests shows a band embracing progress and a lighter touch and style on ‘Chosen Time’ and ‘Senses’, a mood counterbalanced with the not unexpected emotion and soul searching on album centre-point ‘The Him’, ‘ICB’ and ‘Truth.
