All Tomorrow’s Parties – End of an Era

All Tomorrow’s Parties has announced two dates at the end of the year will be their final UK holiday camp festivals.

The event will bow out with two consecutive weekends at Camber Sands at the end of 2013 with the two dates billed as ATP: End of an Era.

The first will be curated by Primavera Sound and features Television performing Marquee Moon, Chelsea Light Moving, Dinosaur Jr, mum, Wolf Eyes, Mike Watt and more.

The second weekend will be curated by Loop who will also perform along with The Pop Group, 23 Skidoo and more.

ATP was first held in 2001 and curated by Mogwai. A quote on their website from Barry Hogan reads:

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that the new curators for November will be our Catalan comrades that run the Primavera festival and the legendary band LOOP who I have to admit I never thought would return.

“All good things must come to an end and we have decided that the 2 weekenders this November are going to be the last ATP’s staged in a holiday camp in the UK.

If you’d like to join us to celebrate the end of an era then come along this November. ATP will still continue with other events but this is the last hurrah of the original boutique music festival.”

More information about the announcement, plus information and tickets for the events are available on the ATP website.

  1. I’m really sad to see that, I’ve always loved going to that festival. We’ve not long since released an EP that we wrote while at ATP and it’s quite depressing to think we’ll never get to go again. It was a unique experience and one that I’ll certainly miss.
