Ace City Racers Gideon Takes The Train single art

Glasgow’s Ace City Racers release the video for their single Gideon Takes the Train. The song is taken from their forthcoming album Citalodisco, released on Last Night From Glasgow on June 4th.

The Glasgow trio are on top form with Gideon Takes the Train, the hypnotic metronomic drum machine inducing immediate foot tapping. The incongruity of the images in the lyrics “I’m just a man on a train in a suit with a drum machine” reflected in the jerky angular post punk rhythms. The bastard child of Kraftwerk coupling with The Cure & Gang of Four  having had a dalliance along the way with the DIY ethic of bis.

After a much delayed release, the trio of guitarist James Barker, bassist Mark Daniels and  Andrew Campbell on drums, released their well received debut album, Take It, Its Yours, in 2017. If you’re quick, Last Night From Glasgow have secured some vinyl copies of this impressive debut.

Citalodisco is set to be a cracking listen if Gideon Takes the Train is anything to go by. The quirkily sinister video they’ve produced to go along with the single matches the mood of the song perfectly.
