WOWfest!! ”“ the brightest and biggest new festival for 2012 with a spectacular line up of massive names across 5 stages and an African Village featuring an eclectic mix of House, Reggae, Ska, Jazz, World, Disco, Dance, Dubstepas well as workshops, cabaret, theatre and circus performances, afterhours swirling burlesque and comedy clubs.

Already announced are UB40 to head up the superb reggae bill, the world's best DJ Paul Oakenfold, a UK exclusive with Madeleine Peyroux on tour, 70s & 80s originals such as The Selecter, The Beat, Maxi Priest, Aswad, Rose Royce, Imagination and greats like the Wailers, Finley Quaye, Jesus Jones, Misty in Roots, Alabama 3, Neville Staple, plus 808 State, and Heaven 17, with DJ sets from Peter Hook plus a whole host of other names.

The Ubuntu Village will offer some of the most amazing acts including; Kakatsitsi ”“ Master Drummers of Ghana, and The !Gubi Family from Namibia who represent the most traditional culture of all those represented in the African village. They are members of the San people, sometimes called Bushmen, who inhabit the Kalahari desert within Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. The San are practitioners of a healing trance dance using song, body percussion and drums and also have an exotic range of acoustic instruments such as the mouthbow, the !Gau Gau (4 stringed instrument using recycled oil can) and the Kan Dodo (bow beaten with stick on top of a biscuit tin). The traditional fire-side healing trance dance of the San will provide the basis for the fire-dance ceremony to be held at dusk every day.
