Update – This competition closed on 20 August 2012. Entries are no longer being accepted.
American punk rock band Social DistortionÃÂ play their first ever Irish date on Tuesday 21 ÃÂ August in the Academy on Middle Abbey Street, Dublin.
Following on from their European tour last year in support of their critically acclaimed, and Top 10 (USA) album, Hard Times and Nursery Rhyme.
“We are stoked to be making it back to Europe so soon,” says frontman Mike Ness. “We have made this a priority because it is important to us.
“Although we regret not touring Europe enough in the early years, we appreciate that our fans have been patient and loyal.
“This is why it is important to us to show them that we are grateful and that they are not taken for granted. Besides, we love Europe and the shows are as exciting as anywhere else in the world.”
The band formed in 1978 in the working class Southern California suburb of Fullerton, and released their first album ‘Mommy’s Little Monster’ in 1983.
Early last year the band released their long awaited, highly anticipated new studio album and debut on Epitaph, ”ËHard Times and Nursery Rhyme’.
The album received critical praise, and the band achieved their highest ever chart position. ‘Hard Times’ was the bands seventh studio album in their long career.
