Red Hot Chili Peppers name new album and release date
Which Chili Peppers will turn up – the gonzoid, funk rockers with Beefheart licks and Black Flag roots with a knack for great songs like on Californication or the more wayward recent version?
The Red Hot Chili peppers will release their new album, the rather boringly title ‘I’m With You’ on as first reported on Louder Than War on August 29th.
The album, their first for five years, was originally to be called ‘Dr Johnny Skinz’s Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head’ – which has a certain old skool lunatic Chili Peppers ring to and was a title inspired by an acid trip a friend of Anthony Kiedis once had.
Produced by Rick Rubin the album is also the band’s first with new member, ex Warpaint guitarist and Chili Pepper second guitarist on recent tours, Josh Klinghoffer. who replaced key band member Jon Frusciante.
The album will be proceeded by a single, ‘The Adventures Of Raindance Maggie’ on July 18.
There are some live gigs in Brazil, Japan and Hong Kong at festivals.
