Red Hot Chili Peppers announce new album details…

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced their new album details.
With a working title of ‘Dr. Johnny Skinz’s Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machinehead’ it seems that the band is going back to its wackier roots, but note this is jsut a working title.

Which Chili Peppers will turn up on the new album is anyone’s guess- the soporific stadium overlords or the funk meisters? or a mixture of the two like on the great ‘Californication’ album when they blended pop and the underground perfectly. There is talk of Flea applying his new musical knowledge from his music course and his new piano skills to the record and there was a trip to Africa by Flea and new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, who replaced the supremely talented John Frusciante, to study afrobeat- so still no clues there…

The working title came from frontman Anthony Kiedis’ friend who explained to him that during his acid trip, “He had been playing a sold-out show to the planets and moons, and his number one hit was, well, that title.”

There is talk of the album being released this year, maybe in the summer and there a handful of stadium shows booked…
