New band of the day : Moloko Knives

For a start it’s a great name for a band, Moloko Knives is taken from the ‘Clockwork Orange’ book the timeless classic written by Anthony Burgess and from the following passage…’What we were peeting was the old moloko with knives in it, as we used to say, to sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of dirty twenty-to-one,’
They are from from Farnworth/Kearsley in Bolton, Lancashire. They were in a film produced by Stella Grundy called “Bag it”, they have been together now for about 18 months. That much we know.

The band are also influenced by bands such as Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles, The Libertines, Velvet Underground. The classics. The result is a brooding , dark almost ballad like indie pop, the band can write really grand soundscapes that is far beyond their years and they have big proper vocals with a good northern accent.
