Kill Chaos are a three piece coming from Sheffield, Mansfield and Nottingham. They make a great big Alt-Rock noise to make you move and shout along to. They say that they are living proof that guitar music isn’t dead in the UK. On the strength of the singles that is spot on.
The music has an edge that is part of the classic Albini sound on the old Big Black records, the sparse noise and the huge slabs of sound over the deceptively simple drum patterns that, when you listen properly, drive the music to new heights.
There could be another ten people in the band to create the sound that these three do. Another sound to liken them too could be the stop / start jarring music that Fugazi made in their heyday. But this is just postulating. Kill Chaos make their own noise from the melting pot of music that they must have digested and that they must have given themselves hearing loss with. They take the past and, like the best new bands out there, they regurgitate it into their own sound.
Their latest single is Satellites / Boy Done Good, which was released in June. Yours for one pound fifty from their Bandcamp page here. A quid and a half for this sound is a no brainer.
Some of the best music I have ever heard is made by people saying that they make stuff they like and hope you do too. In the case of Kill Chaos though I don’t ‘hope’ you will like it, I know you will. This band are just waiting for you to hear them.
Kill Chaos’s website is here. The band are also on Facebook of course and Twitter.
