With new single Skirts out we’re bringing The Other Tribe to your attention – a good-time-apocalypse of beats and hooks.
Blazing out of Bristol, The Other Tribe are a visceral, frenzied gumbo of explosive beats, electro carnage and more hooks than a very hooky thing.
Now on their sophomore release, Skirts is a block-rockin’, uplifting summer banger.
Recent exponents such as Rob Da Bank and Pete Tong have given much deserved exposure to a collective whose Midlake-like melodies married to 3am club aesthetics are making waves around the interweb.
This is maybe just a tad too late in the season for Ibiza’s dancefloors but I reckon festivals and club nights are gonna be making this ”Ëun a staple for the next few months.
Little flourishes of flamenco guitar throughout the track add to the lazy, sun-dappled feel. There’s a quasi-tribal touch to much of The Other Tribe’s music and live favourites such as Businessman On Diazepam hit the target with precision drumming and the bubbling, deranged loops and bleeps beloved of clubbers worldwide.
The Other Tribe are more than your typical faceless, deadpan musos. Live shows are apparently a seething apocalypse of goodtime fun.
Watch this space. The Other Tribe are coming.
