The Clash

Formed in 1976 by members Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Terry Chimes, The Clash are one of the original British punk bands. They were later joined by Nicky Headon. Their most popular album “London Calling” was released in 1979 and the band reached number 1 in the singles chart in 1991 with a rerelease of “Should I Stay Or Should I Go”. They have been one of the most influential bands in music and are known for their political lyrics and rebellious attitude, providing the blueprint for the sound and the soul of what punk rock would be about.
