Louder Than War Video Interview – Frank Turner
The weekend before last Louder Than War’s Ian Critchley caught up with both Frank Turner and Beans on Toast on the morning of their Manchester Arena live date for chats which were videoed. The results will appear on Louder Than War over the next two days, starting with Frank Turner today.
“If you don’t work, you don’t eat” – James Brown
Frank Turner is a very busy man. There’s no doubt about it. Regardless of what you think about him as a person or a musician (I personally think he’s ace), his work ethic is admirable. The Sunday of his Manchester ‘Phones 4U Arena’ date he wasn’t the only one burning the candle with a fucking flamethrower, as I too had a schedule that would make Henry Rollins cry. After the morning job interview I had to head straight into town for my interviews with both Frank and Beans (Franks and Beans, ba dum dum dum) before running across to the other side of Manchester to set-up and play my own show which had Louise Distras, who continuously confirms herself as the female, and more underground, equivalent to Frank in the whole “punk-folk” world, as the head-liner.
Frank, God bless him, even tired to arrange it so he could come and watch me play.
I’d also like to give a huge thanks to AS Photography so allowing me to use their images.
Check back tomorrow for Ian’s Beans on Toast interview.
