Eric Sykes has died.
He was one of the original team that made up the Goons- brought in foe the third series to help the genius Spike Milligan write the scripts- for that alone we salute him...full obituary to follow...

RIP – I used to love “Sykes”, ok maybe a lightweight piece of television but so good natured and with wonderful performances that it was a joy to watch.
I read his charming and “life lived well” autobiography a year or so ago. RIP.
He was very instrumental in comedy of the time sharing an office with Spike Milligan and doing a lot with The Goons. Agree that his autobiography is really good. But, to be fair, he lived a good long life and enjoyed himself, making a lot of people laugh along the way. We all hve to go at some point and I hope his life is celebrated.
