Brian Cannon (Oasis/Verve etc art designer) launches exhibition
To celebrate 25 years of creative graphic design and photography for clients including Oasis, The Verve, Sex Pistols, Super Furry Animals, Cast, Suede and many more we will be staging ‘Microdot, The 25th Anniversary Exhibition – Leeds’ from the 4th – 13th of December 2015.
The venue is a majestic Victorian school building in Leeds City Centre, a former nightclub – La Boheme, Cross York street, Leeds, LS1 7EE.
There will be a private view by guest list only 7pm – 2am Friday the 4th of December featuring a fully licensed bar, 5 DJ’s and a sales stand (which will be open throughout the exhibition), then will be open to the public from Saturday the 5th – Sunday the 13th. Opening times 11am – 7pm.
On Friday the 13th from 7pm Microdot founder Brian Cannon will give a talk then invite questions followed by drinks, music and dancing till late.
Over 200 exhibits will be on display including artwork for every record release by both Oasis and The Verve in the 90’s, including out-takes, never before seen work in progress sketches and handwritten lyrics by Richard Ashcroft. Personally signed Oasis items will feature, including a Noel Gallagher signed gold disc presented to Microdot for work on ‘Definitely Maybe’.
Northern Soul fans will also find of interest a room dedicated to the ongoing Microdot spin off ‘Northern Soul – A Photographic Journey’, a project documenting the contemporary Northern Soul scene across the UK and abroad all shot in stunning black and white.
