Black Flag unite and play undercover show : a report
Black Flag or Flag- the Keith Morris (vocals), Chuck Dukowski (bass), Dez Cadena (guitar/vocals) and Bill Stevenson (drums), with Descendents/All guitarist Stephen Egerton – played their first gig since their reformation to a 200 people invited audience in Redondo Beach in California and the gig sounded amazing from all reports, opening with Revenge before piling into Fix Me, the classic Police Story, I Don't Care and our favourite song Depression, the I've Had It and No Values and a killer version of the Chuck Dukowski classic My War sung for the first time by Keith Morris.
They outro'd the set with Gimme Gimme Gimme, White Minority,”Jealous Again, Wasted, Clocked In, Nervous Breakdown, before Dez Cadena, who we only just saw two weeks ago with the Misfits took over on vocals for American Waste, Thirsty and Miserable and Six Pack. Before Keith took the mix back for Rise Above, then Cadena finished the 20-song set with his rendition of “Louie Louie.”
Sounds great and with Greg Ginn's version of Black Flag about to go out we have two great insights into one of the great bands for the price of one.
It makes you wonder if the rumor we hear about Henry getting back into the saddle with the legendary band and the lassie 5 piece line up coming together being true or just wishful thinking…
